Introduction

Vance Tech Inc. (doing business as Vera) ("Company" or "We") respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”).

This Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit our website (www.hirevera.com) or use our services (collectively, our "Services") and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

This Policy applies to information we collect:

  • Through our Services.
  • In email, text, and other electronic messages between you and us.
  • Through sales, marketing, and events.

It does not apply to information collected by:

  • Us through any other means, including on any other website operated by Company or any third party; or
  • Any third party, including through any application or content (including advertising) that may link to or be accessible from or through the Services.

Please read this Policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. If you do not agree with this Policy, your choice is not to use our Services. By accessing or using our Services, you agree to this Policy. This Policy may change from time to time (see the section entitled “Changes to Our Privacy Policy” below). Your continued use of our Services after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the Policy periodically for updates.

We collect several types of information from and about users of our Services, including information:

  • By which you may be personally identified, such as name, postal address, email address, telephone number, or any other identifier by which you may be contacted online or offline ("personal information");
  • That is about you but individually does not identify you; and/or
  • About your internet connection, the equipment you use to access our Services, and usage details.

We collect this information:

  • Directly from you when you provide it to us.
  • Automatically as you navigate through the Services. Information collected automatically may include usage details, IP addresses, and information collected through cookies and other tracking technologies.
  • Through public databases or our marketing partners.

Information You Provide to Us

The information we collect through our Services may include:

  • Information that you provide by filling in forms through our Services. This includes information provided at the time of registering to use our Services, subscribing to our Services, or requesting additional services. We may also ask you for information when you request support or report a problem with our Services.
  • Records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses), if you contact us.

Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies

As you navigate through and interact with our Services, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including:

  • Information about your device and internet connection, including your IP address, operating system, and browser type.

The information we collect automatically may only include statistical data, but we may maintain it or associate it with personal information we collect in other ways or receive from third parties. This information helps us to improve our Services and to deliver a better and more personalized service, including by enabling us to:

  • Estimate our audience size and usage patterns.
  • Store information about your preferences, allowing us to customize our Services according to your individual interests.
  • Recognize you when you use our Services.

The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include:

  • Cookies (or browser cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. We use cookies to enhance your experience on our Services and to provide essential functionality.  We use necessary cookies for authentication and session management, and functional cookies to remember your preferences and provide application features.  You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our Services. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you direct your browser to our Services.
  • Web Beacons. Parts of our Services and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit the Company, for example, to count users who have visited certain pages of our website or opened an email and for other related usage statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain website content and verifying system and server integrity).

Google API Services

Our Services use Google API Services (such as Google Sign-In and other Google APIs) to authenticate users and to access certain Google user data about you.  In doing so, we adhere to Google’s API Terms of Service and the Google API Services User Data Policy.  We request only minimum permissions necessary to provide and enhance our core, user-facing features.  Data obtained from Google APIs is used solely for authentication, and is not used for secondary purposes such as targeted advertising or reselling.

RB2B Collection Practices

When you visit our website or log in to our Services, cookies and similar technologies may be used by our online data partners or vendors to associate these activities with other personal information they or others have about you, including by association with your email address.  We (or our services providers on our behalf) may then send communications and marketing to this email address.  You may opt out of receiving this advertising by visiting https://app.retention.com/optout.

For more information, see the section entitled “Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information” below.

Disclosure of Your Information

We may disclose aggregated information about our users, and information that does not identify any individual, without restriction.

We may disclose personal information that we collect or you provide as described in this Policy:

  • To contractors, service providers, and other third parties we use to support our business and who are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them.
  • To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of our assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by us about our Services users is among the assets transferred.
  • To fulfill the purpose for which you provide it.

  • With your consent.

We may also disclose your personal information:

  • To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request.
  • To enforce or apply our Terms and Conditions available at https://www.hirevera.com/terms and other agreements, including for billing and collection purposes.
  • If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of Company, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

Our Services are powered by artificial intelligence, machine learning, and similar technologies that are provided by third parties (such as Microsoft).  All personal information processed using AI technology is handled in accordance with this Policy and agreements we have with our third-party AI service providers.

We integrate with third-party APIs, including but not limited to Google API Services, to provide essential functionality for our Services.  We handle all user data accessed through these APIs in compliance with this Policy.  We access and use only the minimum data necessary to fulfill the Services requested by the user and as permitted by the user.

Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information

You have the following choices about how we use and disclose the personal information you provide to us.

  • Tracking Technologies and Advertising. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of our Services may then be inaccessible or not function properly.
  • Promotional Offers from the Company. If you do not wish to have your email address/contact information used by the Company to promote our own or third parties' products or services, you can opt-out by sending us an email stating your request to [email protected]. If we have sent you a promotional email, you may send us a return email asking to be omitted from future email distributions.

We do not control third parties' collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising. However these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. You can opt out of receiving targeted ads from members of the Network Advertising Initiative ("NAI") on the NAI's website.

Accessing and Correcting Your Information

You may send us an email at [email protected] to request access to, correct or delete any personal information that you have provided to us. We cannot delete your personal information except by also deleting your user account. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

Your State Privacy Rights

State consumer privacy laws may provide their residents with additional rights regarding our use of their personal information.  Depending on the state where you reside, you may have the following rights:

  • The right to know/access the information we have about you.
  • The right to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • The right to request deletion of your information.
  • The right to restrict or object to the processing of your information.
  • The right to opt out of targeted advertising, sharing, and sales of your information.
  • The right to not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.

California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) permits users of our Services that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please send an email to [email protected].

Data Security

We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers behind firewalls.

The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Services, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our Services. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures used by the Services.

Data Retention

We store your personal information for as long as you have an active account, and as long as we have a legitimate business purpose to use it.

Controls for Do-Not-Track Features

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track (DNT) feature that signals your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities tracked.  However, because there is no universally recognized standard for DNT, we currently do not respond to these signals.  If a standard is established in the future and we are required to adhere to it, we will update this Policy accordingly.

Children Under the Age of 18

Our Services are not intended for children under 18 years of age (“Minors”). No Minors may provide any personal information to us via the Services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from Minors. If you are a Minor, do not use or provide any personal information to us, including your name, address, telephone number, or email address, or any screen name or user name you may use. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a Minor without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about a Minor, please contact us at [email protected].

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

It is our policy to post any changes we make to our Policy on this page. If we make material changes to how we treat our users' personal information, we will notify you by email to the primary email address specified in your account and/or through a notice on our website.  The date the Policy was last revised is specified at the top of the page. You are responsible for ensuring we have an up-to-date active and deliverable email address for you, and for periodically visiting our website and this Policy to check for any changes.
